Join Lisa for this Spring Cleansing Yoga series to clear out the cobwebs from winter and allow your body to function optimally! This series will fine-tune the body’s natural purifying systems to remove waste by addressing the lymphatic, digestive, urinary, respiratory and circulatory systems. Each week will focus on another system, and will be the theme in both the Restorative class on Tuesday nights, and the Level 1 class on Thursday nights.

WEEK #1 The Kidneys ~ March 19th and 21st

The major detox players in the body are the lymph, blood, liver, kidneys, colon, and the parasympathetic nervous system. If your body is compromised by an overload of toxins or fatigue, a buildup occurs in the organs of the abdominal cavity, the fat, and the blood. A yoga sequence like the one we will work on each week for the next four weeks will support the natural detoxification process by increasing circulation, compressing and twisting internal organs, and encouraging relaxation. Please try to attend each week to receive maximum benefits, but don't stress about it if you miss a week!

 


Lisa has been studying and teaching in the tradition of Iyengar Yoga since 2001 and is a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher (CIYT) . She has had the good fortune to study with the founder of Iyengar Yoga, Yogacharya Sri B.K.S. Iyengar, as well as with many of his senior teachers; including Patricia Walden, Manouso Manos, John Schumacher and Mary Dunn. Yoga is Lisa's passion. Iyengar Yoga is used therapeutically and Lisa applied the knowledge directly to herself to heal from a difficult injury. Creating a supportive environment in her classes, students are able to deepen and strengthen their yoga practice, as she assists students to find comfort and confidence; addressing the needs of each individual.
